Hi! After only 2 weeks in Dr Ravi's class (first session was all about the cat and the rat) I've learnt how to convert a .doc file to a .jpg file with Zamzar, (legally) hack a computer with Teamviewer and learnt this feature called MailMerge! What's cool about it is that I can integrate the usage of Excel & Word into one and now I can send mass letter's (and anything else, really) to lots of people! :D

The amazing world of fascinating presentations has also been introduced! I never knew that you could do so many interesting things with Powerpoint. (Did an exercise called Ms Orange) I always thought it was a rather bland program, but not anymore! We can also add flash videos to the powerpoint slide without having to open another flash program! To get those videos, I simply need to type *whatever the topic is* : swf in google and there will be tons of flash files on the screen.

Also, Dr Ravi showed us a free website to upload our documents to called Opendrive (FOR FREE!) Oh oh and in case we need to find out if the recipient has read our emails, I learnt this clever feature called ReadNotify. I can also trace their IP Address from that website, or simply click Run, type cmd, ip config to find out the ip address of that computer.

There's also a Document version of Youtube called Scribd!

Yeah, that's all for the first 2 weeks! :D

Conveting Word into jpg.

- After creating your story, using www.zamzar.com convert your word into a doc file and then a jpg. All you have to do is follow the instructions given on the website.

Legal Hacking

- You can do this only if both computers have teamviewer. By inserting the other's id number and password, you can legally hack the other computer.

- Go to run, type cmd, this allows you to see if the other server is online and note thier ip adress by typing IPConfig and Ping.

ReadNotify.com

- www.readnotify.com allows you to see if a sent email is open by the receiver. It specifically tells you how many seconds or minutes the receiver opened you email.

Powerpoint

- By using lines and shapes, an image can be created.

Inserting a swf file into powerpoint

1. Search for ___ :swf

2. Then right click and save what you want

3. Open the file in KMPlayer

4. Open PowerPoint, Click Developer

5.Click More controls(Hammer symbol)

6.Select Shockwave Flash Object

7.Make a big box across the slide bu dragging the mouse

8.Right click and select properties. Find out the properties of the file and insert it into the movie section.

Maidmerge

- This allows you to insert database file from Excel into your word.

Adding swf to powerpoint presentation!

Dear Loh, Scribd is just a free open resources that let you upload your PowerPoint and then share with your friends. Just like you can upload video in youtube and can share with your friends. All you got to do is, You can go type www.scribd.com and then when you signup for an account, you would then get details that is so simple for you to upload your PPT content. IF you like to see some of my PPT content in SCRIBD. Then just google computerravi in the scribd search option and sure you would get my International conference presentation created in PowerPoint. That would give you an Idea.
