Dear ICT students of AUG 2013 batch under Dr.Ravichandran, I welcome you all this Web portal, which you will be using for your entire course. This http://as-computing.ning portal is were you will have to upload / post all the classroom based activities.

The CIE ICT task will have to be handed to be in person at the end of each CIE task class and the question paper/ CIE folder should not be take with you under any circumstances. That is, the folder should be given to me after your use in class once you complete your Cie task for that particular class.

WE WILL DO 5 TASKS OF CIE , WHICH MEANS YOU NEED TO COMPLETE, WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, DATABASE AND HTML TO GET QUALIFIED FOR A DIPLOMA.

DATABASE : A set of valid information

INFORMATION : what is represented  by a particular arrangement of things

Today, we learnt how to record and organize informations using Microsoft Access 2007.

With the the access to this microsoft, we can group data into many different forms such as query, report and forms. 

Firstly, we have to insert the type of fields. Minimum 5 fields. For a database for a college the examples of fields used will be student id, student name,student course, student date of birth and lastly student sponsor. Later, we have to fill in each row with data. To obtain a query, we have to click Design Query. From there, we have to choose only the specific fields that is wanted to be displayed. FIll up the criteria, and the query is produced. 

The next type would be designing forms. Click Form Wizard. Insert the type of fields wanted to be displayed on the form. A form based on the data and fields selected will be displayed. 

The last type that we learnt today is to design a report. Click Report Wizard. Insert the fields that you want only up tp 4 types. It can be sorted in ascending or descending order. You can select your own layout in the options and it can be any style that you prefer,

DATABASE : Today we learnt how to record and organize information/facts into Microsoft Access. From there, we could group our data into either a form, query or report. We entered 5 different datas and managed to group them according to the fields we wanted. Later on, we clicked on the form wizard and choose the fields we needed to be in the form. The layout, style and title of the form could be decided on. This could aalso be applied for creating a query or report based on the information we typed into the table initialy.

Today we have created a database using Microsoft Access.

This is where all the data which is valid information are being located.

- within database, we have to fill in the details in every field.

- next, we formed a query.

- then, we clicked on the form wizard with the main headings entailed.

- lastly, we prepared a report using report wizard based on our preference.

Database is a very useful tool to generate reports. It will definitely come in handy for future use. Great lesson today :)

Today we learnt how to create a database with Microsoft Access. We learnt how to make fields, forms and queries and how to generate a report very easily. This will undoubtedly be useful later on.

Today I learnt about database using Microsoft Access 2007. It is indeed very useful in compiling information and keeping them as a record. By using Query Wizard, I can extract specific record without much effort. :)

Today we learned the Database basics. Data is a set of valid information. After entering the fields, we can enter the details and form a table. From there, we can enter a querry of a specific criteria. A report can also be created. Database can be a very useful tool.

today we learned about how to create a database using Microsoft Access. it is certainly a good experience now that i know how to generate reports which can be easily read and shared with many people. Looking forward to try new things in the future.

Today we learnt on how to use Microsoft Access 2007. It is where we create database as it is useful in creating report.
