Dear All,
We have now the latest CIE notes for 2012 and I wish you can follow it up during your college break. As far as Logic gates is concerned, I wish you have to take up all the question samples given at the end of the chapter 1.10 and be ready to face any questions of that sort. Hope you will do some research work just like we did in our class on logic gates. Please see attached all the CIE notes.
Regards,
Dr.Ravi

Dear Block 4 Students,
As I have already mentioned to you that, I will be giving you tasks during your college break, every Wednesday. Here is my first task, which you need to complete and upload before the next Wednesday.
1) Estimate the file size for a Library which needs to computerize its day to day activities. The Library has a total of 1345 books. (8 marks)
2) Draw a flowchart that would would sum all numbers which are divisible only by the number 3 and 7. (10 marks)
3) Explain what is white box testing and black box testing. (4 marks)
4) Write a program that would accept 10 names and store the number of vowels in each name to a single dimensional array. Example....
Ravi - In Ravi a and i are vowels, so the number of vowels in Ravi is 2 which should be stored in another array
Cherry - In Cherry only e is vowel, so the number of vowels in Cherry is just 1, which should be stored in the array
so you need to do this for 10 name using For ..Loop
(10 marks)
5) What is the use advantage and disadvantage of Off the shelves software. (4 marks)
sir, for no. 2, how many numbers are we summing up to?
Holiday Homework
Dr. Ravi, like Raj, i havn't managed to get the answer to question number 1. So sorry but i'll try my best to get it soon.
Task 1,
I forgot how to upload file, it takes me 30 minutes to realize it ~
Well, when the numbers are not given, you need to assume that each values are input and when it is end you need to enter a zero to sum the total, example.
enter a number 4
enter a number 6
enter a number 7
enter a number 0
the total is 17

Dear Raj and Dain, I am so shocked that you have sent a message that you are not able to do the first question. This shows none of you have gone though the CIE notes. Please check your CIE notes and find these sample question and post you answer. Just telling, we dont know is simple, but I know you would have atleast taken notes when i taught a similar question in the classroom. Please interact with other students to know what the question wanted. It is too simple question and got lots of marks in it. cannot miss it.
