Today we learnt a very very veryyy interesting part of ICT. Now we know that there's an in built flash player in power point that can be used to play animations-as long as they are in .swf format of course! First we go to MOZILLA (important!!) and type, '(topic):swf'. click on it, and 'save as' in swf format^^. Then go to powerpoint, click on developer tab.U don't see it?yeah, me neither too (at first). so go to powerpoint options-->popular-->developer tab.yayy!
next, developer-->hammer icon-->shockwave flash object-->ok! Now our cursor has turned into the cross shape.so make a box using that, this is where the animation will be. we can adjust the size later,so no worries.
Right click in the box-->properties-->some sort of box will pop out. Then go to ure saved swf file, right click-->properties-->copy location and paste in the blank cell next to 'Movie' (eg;Movie,C:\Documents and Settings\ITLab\Desktop)
Again go to properties of swf file, and copy the general name (the name the file is saved as). Paste. (eg;
Movie,C:\Documents and Settings\ITLab\Desktop/Plant_Life_Rev01_04)
Now play slide show. And we're done!
Thanks Dr Ravi, this is like, the most exciting thing EVER for powerpoint!
Today, Dr Ravi has taught me a very important lesson to make my powerpoint presentation even more interesting.
I can now incorporate animation in my power point slide.
Step 1: Search the swf files on google and save it.
Step 2: click the 'developer' tab on the microsoft powerpoint>hammer icon>swf object>drive the cursor across the slide.
Step 3: Right hand click> properties> movie
Step 4: Copy the location of our file and paste it in the column, together with the file name and format. Then, run the powerpoint slide.
Today in class we learnt to add flash animations into our powerpoint presentations, which is a very powerful tool for us all now and when we continue our studies later on as this tool can aid our presentation and engage our audience into the topic we are presenting on.
We started with choosing our flash animation file from google by searching for the topic that we are presenting on. At the back of the typed name we should put '.swf' to narrow down our search. After saving the found file into our desktop, we then open powerpoint, select the developer option then press the icon with the hammer on it. After that we select the 'shockwave flash Object' option then click ok. A window then opens where we then have to paste the location and file name into the Movie row. We then click Run Animation and from there we can see the selected animation come to life.
I find this tool superb for future uses.
Dr Ravi taught us how to incorporate an swf file into a Microsoft Powerpoint slide.
Step 1 : Google anything and add ': swf' at the back
Step 2 : Choose a Flash animation and click 'Save page as' on Desktop
Step 3 : Open Microsoft Powerpoint 2007. Make sure the Developer function is enabled.
Step 4 : Delete all the boxes.
Step 5 : Click 'Developer' and click the hammer icon.
Step 6 : Choose 'Shockwave Flash Object' and click 'Ok'
Step 7 : Draw a rectangular shape. Right click and click 'Properties'
Step 8 : Find the 'Movie' column
Step 9 : Right click on the swf file saved just now, and click 'Properties'
Step 10 : Cut the location of the file and paste it for the 'Movie' column
Step 11 : Add '\' and then cut the name of the file and paste it. Add '.swf' at the back.
Step 12 : Click full screen. The flash animation should work well on the Powerpoint slide.
This is a useful tip for my future because I am sure that the course I intend to pursue would require me to make a lot of presentations and slideshows.
Today I discovered that there is already a built in flash player on Microsoft Powerpoint! So you can put animations directly into your presentation! (more interesting than all those texts in one slide!) The steps are simple.
1. Search on the animation that you want on your browser, followed by a colon and type swf
eg. Fertilisation of zygote: swf
2. Save the animation onto your desktop.
3. Open Microsoft Powerpoint.
4. Click on Developer >> A Hammer icon (more tools) >> Shockwave Flash Object
5. Create a box. >> Right click on the box and select Properties
6. Go to Movie. Insert the location of the animation >> Backslash >> Type in swf
7. Press slideshow & there you have your animation!! :)
This is definitely useful for future presentations.
yeah, it is really amazing to learn how to put the movie in our power point..day by day, i felt happy and excited to come to the ict class as i can discover many new things that i never done before especially today..i felt release when learning it as im having the bad mood before entering the class.. so,im looking forward for the next topic..chill!!!
Another useful skill taught by Dr. Ravi today. It teaches us how to put up an animation in a slide without costing us time to load it up and all. A swf file is to be searched first either in Chrome or Mozilla, importantly not Internet Explorer. Saving it on the desktop before going on to next step, to the Power Point itself. Then go to developer and eye for the 'hammer tool', find for Shockwave Flash Object which will next give us a square with an inside cross. Proceed to the next step, fill in the information needed based on the saved animation file before the it can really run well in the presentation slide. Task finished!
Thanks a million to Dr. Ravi.
Today we learned something very interesting and useful to be used in powerpoint presentations. Videos or animations can be included in the slides using the least amount of time to play it, ensuring that your presentation will go smoothly.
Steps :
1. search a desired topic and add : swf (eg : photosynthesis : swf)
2. animations with the icon [FLASH] will appear. Save the desired animation by clicking save as.
3. open the powerpoint and delete the unused frames.
4. click developer on the panel > hammer and tool picture > shockwave
5. draw a box with your desired size. right click and select properties and then movie.
6. right click on the photosynthesis file and select properties. copy the location and paste it at the column beside the movie. put "\" and then copy and paste the file name. add full stop and swf. (eg .swf)
7. It's done ! Press view slide to view the video.
I'm glad i had the opportunity to learn this essential knowledge. I will definitely use it in the future !
I'm not afraid to admit that I've used the combination of powerpoints and animations a thousand of times but I have always linked the powerpoint to the animations saved in my laptop/pendrive instead of inserting them to the powerpoints (well, because I don't know how to!). Luckily today, I finally mastered the 'art of powerpointing' ;
Step 1 : Find the flash animation on google (eg. Demand And Supply : swf) >> Open it >> Save page as (Save under swf)
Step 2 : Open powerpoint and remove all word texts. Then, click Developer (or first enable it in Properties) >> Hammer tool
Step 3 : A pop-out will be shown. Under the row movie, paste the following obtained from the Properties of the swf folder; "Location", "\", "Document Name", ".swf"
eg : C:\Documents and Settings\ITLab\Desktop\Demand And Supply.swf
Step 4 : Play the slides and wa-la! There you have it! :)
I am sure that with the application of this knowledge I can be more confident in dealing with presentations and powerpoints. Thank you, Dr Ravi. :)
another useful and interesting lesson today. we learnt how to incorporate flash based animation downloaded from the internet into powerpoint. the steps are
-firstly, search for an animation- (topic) : swf and open one
-save the animation in computer
-open a powerpoint document, with a blank layout click "developer">"tools">shockwave flash object
-click on the layout and drag to get a square with an "X" inside, right click, and choose properties, click "movie" once
-minimise the powerpoint doc, go to the animation file, right click and go to "properties", copy the location and paste at the column next to "movie" in powerpoint, backslash, copy the file name and paste there.
then, you can play the animation in your slide show. ^_^
Today I've learn on how to use an animation in my presentation using power point.I am very excited, and I feel that it is awesome. This thing had made me so fascinated to do more animation in my presentation in the future. Here are a few steps to do this work:
1.Search for a animation from google by add swf at the end and save to your computer e.g:Photosyntesis:swf
2.Then open power point and click developer once
3.Then do right-clilk to find properties
Knowing that powerpoint will mean a lot to me during my uni studies, I was glad that I had learnt sth that can enable the smooth run of my video clips in Powerpoint... Here are the steps...
1)Open "google chrome"
2) Search for " XXXX. swf "
3)Click on any of those that comes with a "FLASH" word right in front of the title..
4)Then, click on the "triple lines" right at the end of the space where u type in the url..to save the page in desktop
5) open " powerpoint", go to "File" "powerpoint options" "show developer tab in the ribbon" .
6) Click on the hammer-shaped button for "more controls"
7) Search for "Shockwave flash project"
8)Draw a rectangle with two diagonal lines.
9) right click for "properties"
10) go back to desktop and right click on the FLASH file that u have saved just now.
11) copy the "location" and paste this into the "media" of the"properties" in powerpoint followed by "/"
12) copy the "name" from the desktop FLASH file "properties" and paste it behind the "location"
13) click " slide show" in powerpoint.
