Three lawyers rent a motel room for one night. When they got to the motel, they paid RM30 then went into their room. Soon the bellhop brought up their bags and gave back the lawyers RM5 because the motel was having a special discount that weekend. So the three lawyers decided to each keep one of the RM5 dollars and to give the bellhop a RM2 tip. However, when they sat down to tally up their expenses for the weekend they could not explain the following details:
Each one of them had originally paid RM10 (towards the initial RM30), then each got back RM1 which meant that they each paid RM9. Then they gave the bellhop a RM2 tip. HOWEVER, 3 • RM9 + RM2 = RM29
The lawyers couldn't figure out what happened to the other ringgit. After all, the three paid out RM30 but could only account for RM29. Can you determine what happened?

Located in Lembah Beringin, Kolej Yayasan UEM has been producing elite students throughout the world ever since it was built.
Recently, all 4 IT labs at the college have been attacked by a powerful virus. It was so powerful that the management had to call experts from all over the globe. However, no matter how many people they call, they couldn’t remove the virus. Instead, they hop from one lab to another and duplicate every time the experts try to remove them.
When all hope was lost, suddenly, out of nowhere, appeared their saviour. It was none other than Dr. Ravi himself!
He proposed a method somewhat different from the others. But, he had a problem. He could only remove a certain amount of virus per day. He used 2 variables in his method. Which were X and Y.
X = Number of active Virus.
Y = Number of Virus cleared.
So he went to the 1st IT lab on the first day and cleared the virus there.
= X-Y
The remaining virus hopped to the 2nd IT lab and duplicated.
=2(X-Y) = 2X-2Y
The next day, he cleared the 2nd lab.
= 2X-2Y-Y = 2X-3Y
The virus then hopped again and duplicated on the 3rd it lab and Dr. Ravi cleared it on the 3rd day.
=3(2X-3Y)-Y = 6X-10Y
On the 4th day, he cleared the virus.
=4(6X-10Y)-Y = 24X-41Y.
And the day after that, everyone was surprised! All the virus has been cleared. He explained how it works
41/24 = X/Y
Therefore, X = 41 and Y = 24
1st lab = 41-24=17
2nd lab = 2(17)-24 = 10
3rd lab = 3(10)-24 = 6
4th lab = 4(6)-24 = 0

Problem Solving, ENJOY!! :)
Ethan is a rich, good looking businessman. He is married to Allya, Alyssa, Ally and Allison. He loves all his wives and he treats his wives equally. Since he is a very wealthy man, he bought a huge land to build a bungalow for each wives. The constructions took quite awhile to finish but after 2 years, the house was completed and they moved in.
Before moving in, the consultant told Ethan that the land he bought was once the habitat of monkeys in the jungle. Ethan is not an environmental friendly guy therefore; he did not bother if the monkeys lose their home because he needed a big land for his lovely wives to stay. Without taking into consideration of the land he bought, he demanded the consultant to proceed with the constructions.
After a few months living in a very tranquil environment, all his four wives complained about the same problem they faced everyday. Although complaints have been made, Ethan is never bothered to listen. They were so sick and tired of monkeys running around the housing area and decided to chase out the monkeys. Some of the monkeys would run into the next bungalow and it will double, triple and lastly quadruple. So Allya suggested this formula and all the other three wives agreed on it:
Unknowns: X - Number of Monkeys
Y-Number of monkeys chased out
1st Bungalow
= X – Y
Multiplies by 2
2nd Bungalow
= 2x-2y-y=2x-3y
Multiplies by 3
3rd Bungalow
= 6x-9y-y = 6x-10y
Multiplies by 4
4th Bungalows
= 24x-40y-y = 24x-41y
= 24x-41y = 0
= 41/24 = x/y
Therefore: x =41 and y = 24
Allya and the rest of the wives then checks back Allya’s formula
1st Bungalow : 41-24=17
2nd Bungalow : 2(17)-24=10
3rd Bungalow : 3(10)-24=6
4th Bungalow : 4(6)-24 = 0
Once upon a time , in a land away from civilisation there was a college called Kolej Tunku Jaafar. There was a group of rats invading the apartments. After a few months trying to solve the problem, the management department decided to exterminate these rats. At first, the management department asked the students to throw away all of the food of the chalet to prevent from attracting the rats. However, it did not work so it was clear that the rats had a hidden agenda in the apartments. So one day the rats had annoyed the headmaster, Mr. Kenneth so he decided to take matters into his own hands. So for over a period of 17 days, he studied the behaviour of the rats and he soon found out that if he wanted to chase out the rats, some of the rats would run into the next chalet and it will multiply. So Mr. Kenneth suggested this formula
Unknowns: r - Number of rats
rc -Number of rats chased out
1st Chalet
= r– rc
Multiplies by 2
2nd Chalet
= 2r-2rc-rc=2r-3rc
Multiplies by 3
3rd Chalet
= 6r-9rc-rc = 6r-10rc
Multiplies by 4
4th Chalet
= 24r-40rc-rc = 24r-41rc
= 24r-41rc = 0
= 41/24 = r/rc
Therefore : x =41 and y = 24
Mr. Kenneth then checks back his formula
1st Chalet : 41-24=17
2nd Chalet : 2(17)-24=10
3rd Chalet : 3(10)-24=6
4th Chalet : 4(6)-24 = 0
Mr Kenneth has successfully ousted the monkeys away from KYUEM and this further concretes his post. He went on to pursue his computing in PhD in United States.
