MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Reader) is a device which reads the characters printed using magnetic ink on a document. When a document that contains this ink needs to be read, it passes through a machine, which magnetizes the ink and then translates the magnetic information into characters.Widely used in banking area, the characters are usually printed at the bottom of a cheque.MICR provides a secure, high-speed method of scanning and processing information.

Mr Ravi@ I found out that MICR is also used to encode information in sales promotions, coupons, credit cards, airline tickets, insurance premium receipts, deposit tickets, and more.

Students,
Happy Hari raya. I am not sending you this message to assign you some homework. However, i wish to thank and appreciate you for all your contributions in this Ning portal. This is our stepping stone for success as we have seen lot of collaboration, interaction and debate emerging from this discussion forum both in this portal and in classroom.

Thinking that you are going to sit for trial exam, just a day after your re-opening, i feel that it is my responsibility to give you some good examples for algorithmic problems that has always been a headache for you. As such, i have sent you a simple "try out" problem. Once you find some time, please complete it and send it for moderation.

Here goes the problem…

In a company of 500 employes, the bonus payment is made based on their years of experience. Students are expected to write a pseudocode or algorithm for accepting the employees joining date and print the bonus payment based on the following condition.

Years of experience > 5 < 10 Payment of bonus amount RM 1,500
Years of experience < 5 RM 500
Years of experience > 10 years no bonus.

The payment of bonus need to be calculated each year on june 30th.

All the best.
Dr.Ravi
Sir,
if his experience is greater than 5 years, then he'll get 1500...
if his experience is less than 5 years, he'll get 500..
then what if his experience is exactly 5 years?? should he be getting 1500 or 500??

thanks~
